About Art Intuitve

I am a a self-taught abstractionist who first put paint on canvas during COVID. With no prior art experience, a You Tube video opened a door as a time occupier for the long solo days of the pandemic. It never crossed my mind that this initial attempt at abstract painting would create so many energizing opportunities for me in my 70s.

My paintings begin without a preconceived direction. After selecting a canvas, my eye is first drawn to an acrylic paint color and one of many instruments to apply the initial layer - experimenting continually with different techniques, textures and tools as the work evolves.

More common than not, the final painting has no resemblance to the initial start. Marbles, string, mesh, balloons, bubble wrap, aluminum foil and stencils are often found around the studio waiting to be used in the creative process.

With a unique story telling quality through the capture of emotion and movement, my work evokes an instant response from gallery visitors.
